LOCATION: On the "Golden Mile," a stretch of Wilshire Boulevard near Westwood
Village and Century City.
HISTORY: After a successful renovation of the Plaza Hotel in New York, Elad
Properties has made its first venture into Los Angeles. The developer
collaborated with KMD architects (The Wilshire, Two Rodeo) to create the Carlyle
Residences, a crescent-shaped structure that offers views stretching from the
ocean to downtown.
STATS: Rising 24 stories, the Carlyle hosts 78 luxury residences, each with a
private elevator. Floor plans, ranging from 2,800 to 5,700 square feet, include
two- or three-bedroom units on floors three to 20, and six penthouses on floors
21 to 24. The common area features a private dining room, lounge, and fitness
center designed by Fendi Casa. Residents may also opt for Fendi
interiors. Twenty staff housing units are also available for purchase with
residences.
WHAT SETS IT APART: "The crescent shape of the building really allowed us to
maximize the views," says Thomas Elliott of Elad Properties. He also notes the
high ceilings in all the residences, and luxury amenities such as membership at
the Regency Club.
