The
Acura MDX took several weekend excursions over the
past two months, adding more than 4,000 miles to its odometer since our last
update, and it passed its 5,000-mile service exam with flying colors.
6,010—"After spending a few days in a Mazda CX-9, the Acura
is obviously a different caliber of Japanese automobile," says art director Kent
Bancroft. "The MDX is quiet, rides smoothly, corners competently, and overall
makes the drive to work much more enjoyable. In Acura’s case, you get more than
you pay for."
6,700—"The MDX is perfect for car camping," says group
editorial director Bruce Wallin, after a family excursion to Camarillo, Calif.
"The kids kept quiet in the backseat with the rear DVD system and the car easily
accommodated camping gear for four."
7,200—"My family owns a 2003 MDX, and the differences between the two are
astonishing," notes assistant editor Bailey Barnard. "First off, the new MDX
looks
sportier with its flared wheel arches, but most importantly, it
is
sportier—much better handling and acceleration."
