Since the Robb Report Malibu office welcomed the 2009 Infiniti QX56 in April, the plus-size SUV has become the go-to vehicle for venturing on weekend excursions as well as transporting everything from furniture to musical equipment. A few staff members are still intimidated by its gargantuan proportions, but the vehicle has enough technological conveniences to overcome any amount of driver anxiety.

,647—"The oversize side mirrors and excellent reverse video display make the QX56 easier to parallel-park than a Prius," notes editorial director Bruce Wallin. "And it is massive yet maneuverable, which means the driver can sit back and enjoy the ride."

,154—"I felt completely dwarfed by this car, and much preferred driving the Acura MDX, which still had plenty of cargo room," says editorial researcher Hayley Lerch. "Staying inside the lanes with the QX56—not to mention parking it—was a difficult feat."

,960—"The torque is extremely impressive," writes associate editor Paul Meyers. "This SUV is faster off the line than most cars half its size, at every stoplight."

,292—"Everything inside the QX56 is supersized, but at the same time, the interior coddles the driver as nicely as any Infiniti," notes Art & Antiques creative director Roland Madrid.

,350—"Bigger is always better when planning a weekend camping trip," says Meyers, who recently took a trip to Joshua Tree, Calif. "Although it was a bit snug, the Infiniti fit six men and all of our backpacks, tents, food, and even a guitar. And thanks to the rear entertainment package, those in the backseat also had the pleasure of enjoying a feature film during the three-hour car ride from Los Angeles."
