Pininfarina spent $1.5 million developing the Xten office chair, which uses the most advanced ergonomic technologies to achieve maximum comfort and support. The Xten Technogel seat forms to the contours of the body and is designed to reduce seating pressure and fatigue by over 60 percent. A durable Dynatec fabric is used as a seating cover to ensure proper comfort. The Xten has separate adjustments for the back and the seat, tailored lumbar support, an adjustable headrest, and an Armtronic system with a gas-piston control that allows you to raise and lower armrests to any height. MotoArt Furniture
This California-based design company, founded by David Hall and Donovan Fell, turns pieces of vintage aircraft into sculptural home furnishings. The WACO Wing conference table is constructed out of a 1929 WACO tapered wing once used for air racing. The table stretches to 23 feet in length, is topped with roughly 1,200 pounds of half-inch tempered glass, and is finished in the airplane’s original racing colors. The circular B-747 Cowling reception desk spans 105 inches in diameter and is finished with sanded and mirror-polished aluminum; the hardwood desktop is covered with a black-glass working surface. Big Chill’s classic household appliances pair the feel of the ’50s with the functionality and durability required of today’s appliances. In the retro fridge, vintage looks, like a stamped-metal body and chrome trim, meet modern functions like a self-defrost mechanism, an optional interior icemaker, temperature management, and available Energy Star certification. The refrigerators are available in two sizes, with left- or right-handle hinges, and feature an eco-friendly powder coating to prevent fading and chipping.
