Conceived as the Riviera of the Arabian Gulf, the Pearl-Qatar is a man-made island that will bring Mediterranean-style living to 41,000 residents off the eastern coast of Qatar. Built on a former pearl-diving site, the 985-acre project will include villas, townhomes, penthouses, and apartments spread across the island’s 10 districts, each with a different lifestyle theme. Taking exclusivity to another level, the Pearl-Qatar will include several islands within the island. Marsa Arabia Island, for instance, will be situated in the center of the Porto Arabia district and will be home to a Four Seasons hotel. Residents of the Pearl-Qatar will be able to use the causeway that connects the island to the country’s capital of Doha. They may have little need to leave, though: There are also plans for three marinas with moorings for over 1,000 boats, as well as several schools, public parks, five-star hotels, retail stores, and restaurants.
