Furniture shaped like other products—boxing gloves and baseball mitts, for instance—can be viewed in several ways. The Joe chair was named for baseball great Joe DiMaggio and was designed for Poltronova in 1971. And while it’s a natural gift for the baseball fan, it has enjoyed critical acclaim for its capability to respond and adapt to a user’s weight and movement.
