May 5: The Ritter Collection of Modern Illustrated Books and Livres d’Artiste auction, hosted by Swann Galleries, will include works by Braque, Johns, Picasso, and others. Among the noteworthy items is Jim Dine’s Apocalypse, one of eight housed in an oak box with a plaster relief of a skull.

May 9: Highlights at Bonhams & Butterfields’ Inaugural Quail Lodge Motorcycle Auction in Carmel, Calif., will include a 1920 ABC Sopwith TT, which should sell for at least $10,000, and a 1959 BMW R69, valued at $25,000 to $30,000.

May 9: Bonhams & Butterfields will present its Aston Martin and Related Automobilia auction at the Aston Martin Works Service in Newport Pagnell, England. A 1961 Aston Martin DB4 Series III is estimated to garner between $124,000 and $152,000.

May 14: Andy Warhol’s Portrait of Man Ray (1974) is expected to sell for upwards of $2 million at Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art Sale at Rockefeller Center. Works by Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, and Claes Oldenburg will also be offered.

May 17: A 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa—one of only 22 ever built—will be up for sale at RM Auctions’ Ferrari-Legenda e Passione at the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy.

May 19: Doyle New York’s Modern and Contemporary Art auction will offer pieces by French artist Jean Metzinger and Mexican painter Rufino Tamayo, whose 1938 canvas El Helado de Fresa (Strawberry Ice Cream) is estimated to sell for between $300,000 and $500,000.

May 20: Highlights from Sotheby’s New York auction of American Indian Art will include a circa-1840 Tsimshian polychrome wood crest headdress as well as a large Kwakiutl polychrome wood sun mask.
