On The Market: Careyes, Mexico
March 1, 2006
LOCATION: Within Peninsula de Estrellas, a guard-gated community with seven
oceanfront villas in Careyes, which is about two and a half hours south of
Puerto Vallarta on Mexico’s Pacific coast. The secluded region has attracted
second-home buyers such as singer Seal, polo player Nick Clarke and aerospace
magnate Chris Tribull.
HISTORY: The home was designed by architect Manolo
Mestre in 1995 for Bond girl (Thunderball) Luciana Paluzzi and her husband,
Michael Solomon, head of Solomon Entertainment. (Click image to enlarge)
STATS: The
27,000-square-foot home has seven bedrooms, an 80-foot infinity pool, a
12-person Jacuzzi, a gym, a media room, a sunset tower, multiple terraces and
its own private beach. The cliff-top location offers views of the open ocean,
unspoiled coastline and distant mountains.
WHAT SETS IT APART: “Careyes is a
real getaway—it’s literally in the middle of nowhere. The nearest gas station is
about 40 minutes away. It is surrounded by a 30,000-acre nature reserve, so
there are very strict environmental regulations,” says sales manager Andres
Yanome. “The house itself is striking because nearly all of the rooms are
circular shaped, so there are vast views in every direction.” (Click image to enlarge)
