Carbon fiber is an integral element in racecar and
aircraft design and is becoming increasingly popular in residential
applications. The technique of creating carbon fiber involves weaving bundles of
microscopic graphite together in a fabric that is coated with polyester lacquer
to produce a strong, lightweight material with a high-shine, durable finish.
Porsche Design engineers are now bringing the technology and performance of
carbon fiber to a beautifully designed line of smoking accessories that will
make ideal gifts for a cigar lover this holiday season.
The Porsche Design
humidor is cedar-lined and holds up to 50 corona-size sticks, each kept at a
constant 70 percent humidity. With its carbon fiber construction, the humidor is
remarkably sturdy yet weighs little. A four-stick variant for travel keeps
cigars uncrushed and ready to enjoy. And the cedar-lined, heat-resistant ashtray
stays true to Porsche’s philosophy of form following function with an adjustable
inner tray that accommodates cigars of any size.
