Great Gear: Fancy Footwork

Christian Gulliksen

April 1, 2005

As part of a partnership with ferrari’s Formula One team, Puma has released the Future Cat driving shoe. Utilizing an articulated toe shape and an asymmetrical lacing system, the shoe also reduces the number of seams to minimize pressure points. Special heel construction adds cushioning and reduces the shoe’s weight. Adornment includes Ferrari’s shield and Puma’s jumping cat logos. Two versions are available: the Future Cat Hi in Ferrari red with white accents and the Future Cat Low in three solid colorways: red, yellow, and black. The latter is designed more for street use. Michael Schumacher will wear the Future Cat Hi Pro—a fireproof version of the shoe—throughout the season. The Future Cat Hi sells for €140 (approximately $180), while the Future Cat Low sells for €120 (approximately $160). (Click image to enlarge)
