Bill Wall Leather
Bill Wall began his leather business in 1985 when he could not find
high-quality riding gear after an accident on his ’48 Flathead. His signature
pieces have since attracted a faithful following, and the client list for his
Malibu-based company includes Peter Fonda, Carmen Electra, and Ozzy Osbourne.
They likely have their names down for Wall’s his-and-her Limited Edition 20th
Anniversary BWL Rider Jackets. The men’s jacket comes with a front dual-slide
zipper, side zippers that prevent billowing, and gussets in the back that enable
freedom of movement while retaining a clean look. The women’s jacket offers a
more tailored cut. Both use Italian cowhide, silk lining, and Swiss-engineered
RIRI zippers; a thin insulator is built into the men’s version. Proprietary
sterling hardware includes a custom initial zipper pull and an engraved owner’s
plaque. An optional monogram features inlaid, burnished stingray leather.
Wall has created bespoke jackets for two decades and says most jacket orders require only a short phone interview to achieve perfect sizing; for more challenging situations, a custom cloth version will be made and sent for approval prior to cutting the leather. He retains all custom jacket patterns indefinitely, and jackets may be returned for complimentary reconditioning at any time. According to Wall, every BWL creation is “guaranteed to the grave.”
