My job is: Kind of like a hobby on steroids.
Past projects: The Kelvin40
concept jet for the Fondation Cartier, the Talby mobile phone for KDDI Japan,
and the Lever House Restaurant in Manhattan (all shown above).
Current
project: All the aircraft interiors for Qantas.
My home: Has recently
finished being renovated, hence it is currently extremely minimal. However, I
don’t expect it to stay like that very long.
Inspiration comes from:
The smell of Japanese incense purchased from this great shop in Kyoto.
First
job: Working at a news agency in Sydney. (Click image to enlarge)

MATERIAL POSSESSION
Bespoke shoes from George Cleverly in London and my prized knife collection. My favorite knife is a Bob Loveless classic hunting knife. (Click image to enlarge)

The business-class seat Skybed I designed for Qantas. It looks a hell of a lot better than anything out there, and it has been designed specifically by a designer, not cobbled together by a bunch of engineers who may travel only once a year.

Champagne. I like Salon Champagne, but for everyday drinking you can’t beat Dom Pérignon.
TRAVEL TOOL
Minimal luggage and exceptional hotels like the Okura in
Tokyo. It has a familiarity and an authenticity, not to mention immaculate
service. (Click image to enlarge)

Hardware knickknacks from Tokyu Hands (Tokyo), nightshirts from Charvet (Paris) and Fry’s Turkish Delight chocolate bars (UK). (Click image to enlarge)

CAR
My Lamborghini Miura—it has the most classically beautiful shape, and it is the first mid-engine sports car. (Click image to enlarge)
KITCHEN AND BATH APPLIANCES
The Aga I just purchased for my new
kitchen and the bathroom I designed for Porcher. The bathtub was inspired by a
chocolate bar. (Click image to enlarge)

PRODUCT YOU HAVAE PURCHASED SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF FORM
The door handles I
designed for Erreti. As usual, I was struggling to find a product that I liked,
so designing my own was a great way to get what I wanted. (Click image to enlarge)
