INTERNATIONAL CXT
Texans like their trucks, and they like them big. So it is only natural that the Lone Star State’s International Truck and Engine Corp.–which usually produces big rigs–would put the world’s largest pickup truck on the market. Making Hummers look like compacts, the International CXT is built on the same platform as dump trucks and snowplows. The 7.6-liter turbocharged International DT 466 diesel engine produces 220 hp and a healthy 540 ft lbs of torque delivered through an Allison 2500 Series 5-speed automatic transmission. (When it comes to towing, International states that the CXT can haul just about anything you can put into or behind it.) The engine is designed to go 500,000 miles in between overhauls. Technological niceties include all-wheel drive and air brakes, along with dumping and tilt-bed capabilities. And despite its heavy-duty underpinnings, International maintains that the CXT has a pleasant ride quality.  The CXT has room for up to six people, and its interior can be customized to include premium leather and wood trim, entertainment systems, a bench that folds down into a bed, and rear-mounted cameras for increased visibility.
