Audi Q7 2007

January 1, 2007

Audi’s first real full-size SUV breaks some ground in technological terms, with an optional variable-height air suspension, an on-screen video guide for backing up, adaptive cruise control, and even a radar system that warns you of the rapid approach of a vehicle in the lane to your left. The large tailgate can be programmed to rise on its hydraulic rams to a height that matches the driver’s reach. This long, six- or seven-seat SUV handles almost like a rally car on the rough, yet rides on pavement in a way that few vehicles will match. There’s a choice of a 3.6-liter V-6 or 4.2-liter V-8 engine, with two trim levels for each power train. The Q7 offers Audi’s usual comprehensive array of upscale options like its S-line, infotainment, and towing packages. The Q7 was designed with maximum flexibility in mind, so there are 28 seat configurations possible, and the maximum cargo space is a gaping 72 cubic feet.
