International CXT 2007
January 1, 2007
The International CXT is billed as the world’s biggest production pickup. This 4x4 version with dual rear wheels supporting an 8-foot pickup bed is based on the famed truck manufacturer’s 7000 Series lineup of commercial vehicles that includes dump trucks, refuse haulers, and snowplows. With a payload of 5.5 tons and a 13-ton towing capacity, the CXT is intended to be a workhorse of a different color. Actually, many colors, because International offers it primarily to businesses looking for a giant rolling billboard that can be customized to suit their promotional needs. Besides an array of metallic paint schemes, the exterior features brightly polished twin exhaust stacks, air horns, and heated side mirrors. Other standard items include keyless entry, tilt steering wheel, and a four-door, five-passenger cab with its own air suspension. An option list of limo-like luxury goodies includes full leather, a DVD player with drop-down screens, a rear backup camera, and burled walnut trim. Think of the CXT as a very tall limo that requires neither a chauffeur’s nor truck driver’s license to drive.
