New coaches are readily available, but half of Featherlite’s production is
custom. Anything that does not compromise safety or weight issues can be
considered, and bespoke touches have included Jacuzzis, crystal chandeliers,
electric fireplaces, and a complete recording studio. Should you prefer a Fisher
& Paykel dish drawer to a Bosch, or a 50-inch LCD screen with 6.1-channel
surround sound to a 42-inch plasma screen with 5.1-channel sound, Featherlite
can accommodate the request. Interior design typically includes granite, Corian,
etched glass, and high-quality woods; nearly every coach comes equipped with
satellite-capable media, automatic awnings, electric window shades, and
air-powered pocket doors. Popular options include wine coolers, weather-sensing
awnings, and radiant heated floors.

The available AMX Modero system will coordinate and control virtually every electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and entertainment system on board through multiple interfaces. A simple command on the Modero’s touchscreen can change all systems to “away” or “home” settings—everything from lighting to entry and bay door locks, window shades, power sources, and up to eight video cameras. It can further utilize some of those video cameras as driver aids while in motion.

(Click on image to enlarge.)Featherlite coaches can provide electricity from a variety of sources: the 50-amp shore power available at motorcoach resorts, multiple chassis and house batteries, dual 4-kilowatt Trace inverters, a turbodiesel generator, and multiple alternators. Four sales and service centers and 15 authorized service centers across the country ensure prompt coach service, and most mechanical issues can be addressed at any truck service facility.
The production process, from initial inquiry to drive-away, averages five to nine months, and prices start at around $1.5 million.
