Green Machines: Electric: Gasless Grocery Getter

Jake Townsend

April 1, 2007

Though it looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book, Myers Motors describes its all-electric NmG (No More Gas) as having a "spherical body design, like a motorcycle helmet." Viewed from the rear, the single-passenger, three-wheeled NmG could be mistaken for a fiberglass-encased motorcycle. At $24,900, the NmG is also one of the lowest-priced vehicles in the all-electric category, and with a zero-to-60 mph time of 12.5 seconds, it is also one of the slowest paced. The NmG has a range of about 30 miles and can be fully recharged in six to eight hours on any standard 110-volt outlet, and a 220-volt charger will have you back in the car-pool lanes in about four to six hours. The vehicle is available directly from Myers Motors of Tallmadge, Ohio, and can be delivered in about 90 days.
