Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano 2007
01/01/2007
This new Ferrari might be named for the company’s private race/test track in Modena, Italy, but the 599 GTB Fiorano is a street car through and through. The 599 is a grand touring automobile, not some raw-boned street racer. It is designed to cover vast distances at great speed and offer enough comfort for its driver and a (presumably) lovely companion to arrive unruffled. This 620 hp two-seater even has French-stitched leather interior trim and a satellite navigation system. Should you become too much of a Continental dandy while driving your 599, just remember that the adjustable shocks used on this quarter-million-dollar baby are the same as those used on that working-class hero of the car world, the Chevrolet Corvette. Still, bèlla macchina, no? Well, all right, some of the styling (of which there is a lot) could be called controversial. But the 575M Maranello that the 599 replaces was beginning to look distinctly old.PRICE: $260,000 (est.)
