Audi TT (2008)

January 1, 2007

The first TT put the world on notice that Audi was a design powerhouse with imagination and originality, and the car went on to decorate streets in nearly every country. But time passes, and a new car was needed. This time around Audi gave the TT a new face, conforming to current Audi design language, which we think works better on the TT than on any other model. The new TT also switches to a lighter, aluminum body with increased interior space, and a direct-injection version of the company’s turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four pedaling through either a 6-speed manual transmission or through Audi’s brilliant 6-speed dual-clutch sequential S tronic gearbox (formerly called DSG). Ride and handling benefit from the adoption of adaptive shock technology using magnetic damping fluid. The latter is claimed to be responsible for an amazing 15-second reduction in lap times around the famous Nordschleife loop of the Nűrburgring race track. The TT can be specified with 3.2-liter V-6 power in quattro all-wheel-drive configuration, and this model also gets both transmission options.
