Furniture maker and craftsman David Linley was raised with an appreciation for the arts and crafts, thanks to his father, Anthony Armstrong-Jones, the Earl of Snowdon, who codesigned the London Zoo’s aviary. Linley, a member of the British royal family, attended the Bedales School, an independent academy that fosters the arts, and later studied wood craftsmanship at Parnham College.

Designed by Linley to recognize the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution in 2009, this humidor is crafted from ripple sycamore, satin walnut, and Santos rosewood and resembles a Cuban flag fluttering in the wind—a characteristic that brings Linley considerable pride. "Emulating the ripples of a flag blowing in the wind is extremely difficult to achieve in wood," he says, adding that the humidor’s size (about 19.5 inches wide by 9.5 inches deep by 6 inches high) is equally appealing. "It is a significant, bold piece, which stands out in a room."

Each Cuban flag humidor is equipped with a Cigar Spa humidification system, which can measure humidity levels to within 2 percent. Only 50 humidors will be made, and of those 50, more than 30 still are available.

Price: £4,200 or about $6,575
