Hurricane Custom Billiards, a St. Petersburg, Fla., company founded by two architects, originally created the Mantis table shown here as a custom design for one of it clients. Now the company is making this model available as one of its predesigned tables. The table’s distinguishing features include its bent aluminum-plate legs, its figured wood brackets, and its open-loop ball return. The woods used to make the Mantis include cocobolo, maple, and cherry, and the rail is made of etched glass.
